After over 24 hours of traveling, Andrew, Alayna and I finally arrived home safely. It was such a long day. I experienced a kind of tired that I didn't even know was possible, but it's over. That was yesterday. Today...we're home.
We're still tired and Ally needs time to settle in. Poor girl, she's been through a lot. She eats well and sleeps well and she loves to play. But she needs to learn about home and family and love...she really has no idea. She also needs to learn to trust that this is permanent.
I will share more later, but I can't resist sharing a couple pictures of our sweet treasure experiencing her first day home. I think that the pictures of the children home are the best part of adoption blogs...a child that once lived in an orphanage and now has a home...amazing.
The first one is Ally and her younger sister, Lydia. Ally is four months older, but much smaller. They are going to have so much fun together.
Did I mention that she loves to eat? She likes to have me feed her, but she thinks it's very fun to sit in the high chair and feed herself a snack. Even when she's full and doesn't want to keep eating, she cries when the meal is done. Feeding herself a few cheerios or pieces of cracker helps her deal with the end of the meal and gives her a little control over her food.
(Look at her beautiful hair!!)
We're going to catch up on some sleep, and like I said, help Ally settle in here. I'll update more when I get a chance.
