In October, I shared some children our family has been praying for.
One of these children was Stacy.
Our family has loved and prayed for Stacy. We rejoiced last week when Stacy showed up on Reece's Rainbow's My Family Found Me page. She had a family! We cried tears of joy over the news.
This week we cried again when we read the news that Stacy had died.
Many children do not survive the first year after they are transferred to institutions. Some children who manage to hang on, surviving even though their needs aren't being met, just can't handle it when they are moved to a place where they get even less.
I don't know any of the details, but I'm praying for her family. How heartbroken they must be.
She was loved and prayed for, even though she never knew it, and she'll be remembered. I pray that the Lord will use her life to shine the light on children still living in desperate situations so they can be seen for the treasures they are and not just left to die.

Tears :(
ReplyDeleteI can imagine the heartbreak of this little one waiting so long and then her family finding her only to lose her...
Oh my goodness, how terrible. I can't tell you how many times I looked at her and we even thought of trying to adopt her and our two from Bulgaria. There was just something about her. We decided we just couldn't adopt from both countries, though. I was so glad she finally had a family. So sad.
ReplyDeleteI let out a wail when I heard about Stacy. I just cannot imagine what Stacy went through or what her forever family is going through.
